This page about Lincoln City Oregon is for the guests of the Inn of the Beachcomber and those of you that found it in cyber space. We are planning to offer more information about the Lincoln City area as we have time but thought we would at least offer this as a start. The Beachcomber is a 47 unit inn located on the beach in Gold Beach Oregon. We are 53 miles from the Redwood National Parks headquarters in Crescent City, California and all that the coastal redwoods have to offer and 202 miles south of Lincoln City Oregon.
What does Frommer’s say about the Gold Beach Area?
“The 60-mile stretch of coast between Port Orford and the California state line is perhaps the most beautiful stretch of the entire Oregon coast, yet because of its distance from major metropolitan areas, it attracts surprisingly few visitors.” So those of us that are familiar with the Oregon Coast recommend that you live a little on the wild side and head on down to Gold Beach and the Inn of the Beachcomber and experience “Oregon’s Undiscovered Coast” first hand!
Lincoln City Oregon
When you think about old coast towns, trinket shops, saltwater taffy and crowds that’s Lincoln City. Lincoln city is a little short on charm. Originally the area was known as the “20 miracle miles”; 5 towns that sprawled into one large town and now the miracle has lost its luster. Lincoln City does have lots of motels, hotels and inns with an abundance of restaurants that are on the reasonable side as it relates to price. Like many towns on the coast it has an Indian gamming casino, Chinook Winds Casino if you have some spare change to donate. Good beaches and wind are found in Lincoln City if you like kite flying. In fact, they have a kite flying festival. If you like shopping there’s Tanger Outlet Center with lots of factory outlet shops. You can also find lots of galleries if you are prone to collecting art or just enjoy the artist's hard work. In the winter you can see Nelscott Reef's big wave breaks, as Lincoln City sports one of the Oregon coast's more active surf communities.

Just south of Otter Rock is Beverly Beach State Park which is a nice little stop and home to a great beach.
